This was a heartbreaking story of a family that was rocked by mental illness. The story alternates between their lives and the doctors, researchers and scientists that struggle to unlock the way schizophrenia works. Watching the children each take their steps from just being “normal” to being trapped in their illness was heartbreaking, and the struggle of the non affected kids and parents.
Well researched and meticulously put together book. I hope that someday we will find out just what can trigger this disease, and how to treat it without destroying the rest of the person.
