This series follows a girl whose touch has the ability to kill others. She is imprisoned for murder in the first book but is suddenly released in order to be weaponized for the coming war. Eventually, she meets others who are similar to her and learns about a group of rebels.

I am at loss how to review this book. This was released back in 2011 and I am only reading this a decade later plus I have been seeing this on various platforms across the years, so safe to say the expectation was really high. I do not necessarily detest this but I am coasting right now.
1. The writing style sounds juvenile. Marketed as a YA plus this is an earlier work of the author, I understand why the wording and transitions weren't there yet.
2. Plot. I have so many questions mostly about the origin of their superpowers, what happened to the world as we know it etc., then again this is just the first book so...
3. Characters. Where is the Aaron Warner the internet has been buzzing about?? This Aaron Warner is just an emotional manipulative psycho. And why does Adam and Juliette feel the need to hump each other every five minutes? π I hope the development gets better on the next books
4. Transitions. I like that Juliette wasn't overly adaptable when thrusted into the outside world, made it more relatable
Overall, I am just feeling meh all throughout but I am still going to give this series a chance. If Unravel Me is just the same, might push this back further my reading list.
