I read/listened to this as it was IRL bookclub choice. It was one I was sure if I could be bothered to read as I didn’t think I was in the mood for the concentration normally required with a classic. I was so wrong. I flew through this is just a few sittings.⁣

The book is a slow burning, beautifully descriptive narrative that really drags you under and into the world of the characters. The writing is so mesmerising that you almost feel like you are there at Manderley. There were points when though when I really just wanted to shout at them to talk to each other!!
