A Princess for Christmas
by Jenny Holiday
The whole royalty plus poor person trope isn't a favorite of mine, but I tend to branch out for holiday books. There is something about Christmas that just makes it okay and fun for me to read about princesses. *shrug*
Anyways, this book was cute with a little bit of spice. I'd probably call it like 2.5 spice. There's a bit of description and tension but it's definitely not to the descriptive level of Tessa Bailey (which I LOVE).
If you're in the market for a Christmas Princess with the standard "Oh no, my dad won't let me marry a pauper" then this is the book for you.
Quotes:
“If you want someone to listen to you, don’t yell. Yelling signals desperation. Speak quietly, but firmly. You will be heard.”
“I, for one, think that enthusiasm over topics one cares about is an attractive trait…. You might call it nerdiness, but people with passion are much more interesting than those without it.”
"I might be a poor schlub from the Bronx, but I know how to fuck."
