The Emperor's Blades

I enjoyed this overall! I was overcomplicating the mystery in my head and was a bit disappointed with who the perpetrators were. Also the constant talk of a particular sort of violence against women by the bad guys was just so yuck plus the constant talk of 'fat' when it came to a certain monk was lame. A product of it's publishing time, perhaps. But yeah overall, was a compelling world and story and I do love a good plot against the empire story. Disappointed we didn't get more from Adare, the main woman pov. Hopefully in future installments.
