An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

Well, this was no ACOTAR like I thought it would be since a lot of reviewers had compared it to that. However, I did like that Rook could change into a bird—maybe not a big deal, but I like birds! Plus the fair ones glamour covers up a type of beast-looking creature, so that was cool.

It took me a long while to get into this book. And even then, I didn't feel totally invested. The writing is amazing with lovely words that I probably need a dictionary to look at the definition. However, I didn't get the whole Craft thing, like how a fair one would die if they tried to cook their own food? Interesting concept but still. The "L" word was used too quick—the girl thought she was in love with the guy after first meeting. I've stated multiple times that I'm perfectly fine with automatic attraction but no need for that word!

Isobel was funny and Rook was cocky, so I liked those aspects, but I wanted more with the story. I'm so ecstatic that this is a stand alone because those are incredibly rare to find, so this is a jewel in itself. The world was nicely put together, so I would recommend it for that!
