I kind of wonder why I picked this one up after how much I hated The Friend Zone. I guess I liked the summary better? Maybe because it was nominated in the goodreads awards? Either way, this one was barely better. Again with the problematic bullshit, again with the main character I can't stand, but throw in some massively weird pacing and some deeply frustrating drama and suddenly the only redeemable thing about this book are the Minnesota scenes that make me nostalgic for summers at my grandparents' house driving the four-wheeler in the woods and fishing on the lake.
