Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
4.0

So I'm finally getting back into writing full on reviews which is fun, so hopefully each book now will have a review stamped onto it! Anyways, let's get into it!

So, I read [b: Stalking Jack the Ripper|40727470|Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530823449l/40727470._SY75_.jpg|47434536] in either January or February of this year. I enjoyed it enough, I thought it was fine. Many people were calling it "Amazing" or "Most feminist novel of 2017" which I didn't agree with. If you want to know my more in depth thoughts on book 1, look at my review. But to put it in short, I thought our main character was sexist, I through the murder was far to predictable, and I thought our main characters were far to naive, and the murder case was to glazed over. So in other words it could have been better. There were obviously things I like about it since I gave it a 3 stars, but I didn't particularly love it.

It seems as though [a: Kerri Maniscalco|14584166|Kerri Maniscalco|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1463933725p2/14584166.jpg] listened to very complaint I had about [b: Stalking Jack the Ripper|40727470|Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530823449l/40727470._SY75_.jpg|47434536] and removed, or added more to [b: Hunting Prince Dracula|33784373|Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #2)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1489420853l/33784373._SX50_.jpg|50890346].

Book 2 of this series takes place just a few weeks after the events of [b: Stalking Jack the Ripper|40727470|Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530823449l/40727470._SY75_.jpg|47434536]. We follow Audrey Rose and Thomas as they make their way to the academy for forensic science in Romania. At the school, people are being murdered, and villagers and students alike are convinced the ancient dead king, Vlad the Impaler, has risen from the dead.

Very interesting concept. Going in I had 0 exceptions. I didn't even really know if I'd continue on with this series. In book 1, I honestly could care less about Audrey Rose. She was a "feminist" (see the quotation marks. I'm lying, she just thought the female gender superior), and it seemed all she cared about was if Thomas Cresswell her partner in crime, was in fact infatuated by her. Her whole character was "woman should have rights, jobs, and be respected" yet all she seemed to care about was about Thomas.

Yet in this book, I actually enjoyed her character much more. She was still the annoying MC we had in book one, yet she was much more. Her character was less sexist, and she was much smarter in her actions and why she did what she did. I enjoyed that aspect, as much I love Thomas Cresswell (cue love noises).

He's just heart eyes. Just pure heart eyes. He's charming, and cocky, but he's so adorable and sweet and caring. God the dude was still in love with Audrey Rose even after she was a down right bitch to him. He's just
