2025: 4.0⭐I had a lot of fun with this reread and actually enjoyed it more the second time around. The world of The Scholomance is incredibly unique and Novik is able to weave together interesting world building with fun characters in a way that I don't see in many dark academia books. While I would like a little more time outside of El's head (necessary info-dumping I suppose), I still enjoyed her perspective as the 'outsider' throughout the story.
My goal with this reread was to be able to actually continue (and finish) the series this year. With the cliffhanger Novik left for us, I will most definitely be jumping straight into The Last Graduate.
2023: 3.75⭐
