Ali Hazelwood switches things up with Deep End” no dual POVs this time, but what we do get? Consent, communication, and enough sexual angst to fuel a whole new branch of psychology.
Scarlett and Lukas are refreshingly in sync about their needs (love that for them), but wow, the other relationships in this book? A mess. Pen, girl, you broke up with Lukas—stop treating him like a backup boyfriend. And Lukas? Set some damn boundaries. And Scarlett, please, for the love of all things holy, just say the words. Communication, people!
Not sure how I feel about Lukas catching feelings for Scarlett while still with Pen—it gives mildly unfaithful vibes. Also, the self-doubt? Not my favorite. But you know who is my favorite? JAN! Absolute legend.
Overall, Deep End delivers Hazelwood’s signature brainy, tension-filled romance, but with a fresh dynamic that keeps things interesting. Just be prepared to scream, USE YOUR WORDS! at least a dozen times.
