Hannah has written many fantastic, 5⭐️ reads, but this will always be my favorite.  

Further ruminations upon receiving a #gifted copy of the 10th anniversary deluxe edition from my friends at @stmartinspress:

I can’t believe it’s been nearly 10 years since I first met Vianne and Isabelle.  Not all books leave a lasting imprint, but this one was immediately etched onto my heart and remains an all-time favorite read. I can still feel that deep well of emotion as my heart broke and then found lasting inspiration.  

The Nightingale is set very close to where I used to live in Europe.  The vivid descriptions took me right back to that place and made me long for my old home.  It also brought to life the tragic history of war-torn, N@zi occupied France reminding me of the firsthand stories I’d learned as we traveled the region.  

➡️  It feels both scary and timely that this special edition is releasing now.  Vianne and Isabelle were bold and brave resistors.  May we take inspiration from them and fight to protect what is just and good.
