A remarkable, fascinating, informative book. Aslan places the narrative of biblical Jesus into a factual historical context, showing the reader what the world was like at the time of Jesus’ preaching. This book can be enjoyed by religious and irreligious alike, in my opinion. It’s a very eye-opening (and, especially the bits about Paul, a particularly depressing and horrifying) look at the origins of the myths that many of us take for granted nowadays.
