Dangerous Breed
by Onley James
Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.
There would never be anybody who Memphis could just reach for, who wouldn’t hesitate to reach back.
I was looking for a book with breeding kink (for reasons), so it was a perfect excuse to reread this book. I love a prickly broken boy with an older stoic, protective man who loves him, and this book is a really good case of exactly that situation. Preacher has lived more of his life in prison than out of it, so he’s a little rough around the edges, but he’s also super sweet and caring.
Kissing Memphis was like the first breath of air he’d taken as a free man.
Memphis is like an angry little gremlin who’d rather attack first and apologize later (if ever), which is understandable with the level of trauma from his past. I love him so much.
It’s an uncomplicated story and the suspense hits just right. I know this series doesn’t get nearly as much attention as the Necessary Evils series does, but I definitely recommend this if you enjoy Onley James.
“Do you know what it’s like to be hated? Not for anything you did, but just for the very fact that you exist at all?”

“You think I couldn’t get in my truck, hit a bar, and go home with somebody if I was just looking to get off? I want you. You. Three days together and you’ve got me twisted inside out. Just admit you want me back. Admit that you’re not as undesirable as you think you are.”
When Preacher released him, he gently slapped Memphis on the ass, and a shiver of excitement ran through him. Who knew he liked a man who slapped him on the ass and bossed him around?
“Like what?” Preacher grinned. “Like drag you into the shower, get you nice and squeaky clean before laying you out on that bed right there and making you come harder than you ever have before with just my tongue and my fingers.” He could feel Memphis breathing heavily, rapt. “Then I’ll take all that cum and feed it into your tight little hole and fuck you nice and slow until I fill you up with my own load.”
“Fuck, you’re so wet for me, so full. I could do this all day. Just keep you plugged up until it’s time for me to breed you over and over again.”
