While it doesn't quite match the intensity of the first book, where each story thread drove towards an action-packed showdown, I love the story that is being set up here for book 3. The action and characterization are still top-notch (I love Kate!) and the big climactic moments were well deserved. I was on the edge of my seat for the 

reunion between Tara and Pan, the big insurgence speech from Kate, and the kiss between Kate and Scottie.

This is such a fun, epic, series and I can't wait for the next installment.
