I have been a lover of Percy Jackson and Rick Riordan since I was 10 years old. It is such an amazing series and it will always be one of my top series ever. I loved Percy's attitude and how he went from being no one to being a child of the Big 3, and how important he became once he discovered who his father was. I have reread this series so many times, and I am finally annotating my copies of this series as the show episodes come out (and will do the same if we get S2 to S5 of the show for each book in the Percy Jackson series). I gave this book 4.25 stars!!
Quotes
“Look, I didnt want to be a half-blood. If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom and dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal life. Being a half-blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful nasty ways. If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe none of this ever happened. But if you recognize yourself in these pages-if you feel something stirring inside- stop reading immediately. You might be one of us. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before THEY sense it too, and they'll come for you. Don't say I didn't warn you."
“Deadlines just aren't real to me until I'm staring one in the face.”
“How did you die?" "We er....drowned in a bathtub." "All three of you?" "It was a big bathtub.”
“Even strength must bow to wisdom sometimes.”
“Why can't you place a blessing like that on us?" I asked. "It only works on wild animals." "So it would only affect Percy," Annabeth reasoned. "Hey!" I protested.”
"Now, if she'd invented pizza-that I could understand.”
“Your uncle," Poseidon sighed, "has always had a flair for dramatic exits. I think he would've done well as the god of theater.”
“You're pretty smug, Lord Ares, for a guy who runs from Cupid statues.”
