I am 120% sure when I say that Ilona Andrews, pen name for a married couple (isn't it cute?), is now part of my favorite authors list. Their books are always entertaining. They have the perfect amount of romance, action, and mystery. Something like the old Sarah J Maas books felt like. To be honest there are too many similarities between their books that it doesn't feel coincidental and I had the same feeling with Magic Bites and C.L. Wilson's Lord of the Fading Land. I'm wondering if Sarah was inspired by some of these books.
Anyway, liked the book, liked the characters, liked the story, and the pace of the romance subplot is perfect. It lacked a little something in the end so four stars. but don't get confused im buying the next book while I'm writing this.
