Three Kings
by Freydís Moon
emotional
lighthearted
fast-paced
“But I don’t want this to end here because I’m afraid if it does, I’ll be a memory for you, and you’ll be a curse for me.”
There are three things I've learned over the course of reading Freydis Moon:
1. Every story they write has such a mystical atmospheric setting that I will obsess over long after I've finished.
2. Moon is an expert at creating tension and such visceral longing.
3. The aching tenderness and devotion that their characters show one another is unmatched.
The spice is fantastic but I think it's the intimate quiet moments in between that really undo me in this particular story.
TWs: discussions of infertility
