I've been looking forward to reading this for a while and it didn't disappoint. It's like Gossip girl meets scream but not in the way you expect.

It's obvious Goldy is a massive fan of the horror franchise and it shows, with subtle nods to popular horror films and literature, we are immersed into a world of it as we follow The Mary Shelley Club, which is like the breakfast club, but for horror fans.

It was spooky and mysterious, and difficult to tell where it was heading as we sped along to the climax but I was really suprised how it all played out. Since it was dubbed "like Scream" I was expecting something different along the lines of the plot but it absolutly did give me scream vibes. It was refreshing to follow a group of students who loved horror and a different approach to your typical YA horror/mystery novel, with all of the meta knowledge that made Scream such an iconic film.

There were a few small issues with me, such as the mundane day to day life of teenage drama but it was also necessary as most of the novel plays out against the background of an elite prep school, but it didn't ruin the story for me.

It was incredibly fast paced and a thrilling read and it was hard to tell where it was going, and there was also the element of "who can I trust."

In the end, I couldn't put it down, and I was impressed and delighted with the ending. I hope we get a sequel.
