goodeyreads 's review for:
The Boy Most Likely To
by Huntley Fitzpatrick
SPOILERS BELOW...but this is how I feel haha:
Okay, this book is NOT all that.
I chose it as a quick read that seemed like a cute story to pass the time. But instead, I got a book filled with way too much and not enough all at the same time.
For Tim to be an alcoholic...doing drugs...having sex...fathering a child...etc, etc, etc. That's TOO much to me. It took away from the story and just annoyed me. It didn't make me enjoy his character for 'turning around'. And he and Alice's relationship was also too easy. It was insta-love and just straight too 'let's have sex!'.
The whole Hester and Calvin thing was also wonky. I felt it HAD to be apart of the story, the way the author wrote it, but at the same time wasn't necessary. It was an added blip that kept tangling things...ESPECIALLY B/C THE KID WASN'T EVEN HIS. That I thought was an obvious plot line and he and Alive live happily ever after, etc. but NOPE. So that was a bummer too.
All and all...not as sweet as it all entails.
