This was really good! I am a sucker for a broken woman on the run and a man saves her trope. Bonus if she is pregnant and/or is a single mother. This hit all the right notes! I love the romance between River and Carrie and how it's a slow burn. You can tell he truly cares for her and her unborn child, despite the fact that he appears so cold and broken outside. His backstory broke my heart and is definitely full of triggers so be mindful of that. I love when two broken individuals find each other, save each other and have a happily ever after. This story is not for the faint of heart, but it is gut wrenchingly beautiful and I loved every second of it!
