All that mythology and dwelling in the past, with the different yokais, really is interesting, accompanied by great art, but ... I came here for Hinako being eaten by a monster, and I really hope the author won’t break this promise a second time.

Sai keeps preaching in the afterwords that they love gloomy stories, but this is turning into a “how to overcome depression” type of story. Going much more into the hopeful side. As said in a previous review, the melancholy is completely half-assed.

And so is the yuri part. There’s no romance whatsoever, the one and only kiss has been censored, and while I don’t mind a story focusing on platonic friendships, it’s annoying that there were 2 click-bait Tropes.

The horror aspect too is declining.

Tsukabi continues to be annoying, especially because I don’t like the type of character-trope she fulfills. She’s still better than Shiori tho.

This is starting to feel a lot like TBHK... obviously, no matter what route Sai will choose for this, it’ll always be better than tbhk, but ... I still hope Sai will choose the ‘gloomy’ ending.
