Together We Bleed by Larkin Bryne
5.0
lighthearted

How, after so many relationships of nothing offered and nothing gained, he stumbled upon a man who loves so wholly, so violently in his softness.

This little short story was really beautifully written. It was a little absurd, it was sweet, and it was just… different. I don’t have a lot of intelligent things to say about it, but considering it’s only 22 pages, I’m really impressed by how lovely it was.

It also has probably the prettiest cover I’ve seen. Highly recommend.

Haniel takes Wren’s thighs in his hands, their thickness bulging through the spaces between his fingers.

Insecurity burrows like a tick, swells and swells and swells for days, months, years, a permanent attachment. Sticky, and hard, and wet–take it between pinched fingers and try to pull it off. See the amount of skin that goes with it, and realize that the effort is not worth living free.

Love is not a cure. It is safety.
