Waiting for Godot: A Tragicomedy in Two Acts
by Samuel Beckett
I would love to talk to the people who decide what is and isn’t a classic. I would love to know what kind of nepotism got certain works on the list. I picked this up because it was on a buzzfeed list of books you didn’t actually read in high school but should. What a waste. I would have given this one star, but I want to imagine that if I were to have seen the play I might have chuckled once or twice at the characters. Maybe an ‘Oh Estragon!’ But really, there is no story. There is nothing to tell. It’s two dudes with horrible memory, or maybe they’re both on drugs and imagining everything, waiting for a flaky friend.
