I knew what I was getting into with this book, as most books detailing the horrific goings on in concentration camps are equally grim. It certainly did not disappoint in that area. This book detailed lives of those who were tormented and abused in the camps, as well as lives and careers of the SS doctors and guards. It seems weird for me to say that I had been looking forward to reading this book for months, but I have been looking forward to it since I got it for my birthday last year. It was a long book, and took a while for me to get through since I was reading this one while my kids were in dance class, but it was worth it to get another perspective of life in thr camps. This is something that everyone should know about. This book was well researched, and included personal interviews and quotes. It was truly moving.
