This book took me on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. There were a lot of instances that spoke so much truths and I loved that about it. The stark realizations people of color have to do in order to achieve the same success resonated through the book! It also definitely was a page turner because I was so invested to see what was going to happen to Buck and where the story ended. The plot twist at the end was very shocking and I did not expect that at all.

One thing I also wanted to mention is that the book is marketed as satire, as written from the synopsis "Black Buck is a hilarious, razor-sharp skewering of America’s workforce; it is a propulsive, crackling debut that explores ambition and race, and makes way for a necessary new vision of the American dream". But in all honesty, I would not consider it as satire or hilarious. It was not a simple read due to its underlining issues discussed. 

But overall a decent, well written debut novel.
