While the language is beautiful, it is also hard to follow. It felt like everything was a metaphor and it was impossible to figure out what was what. To me, the plot was both too slow and too fast, which made it hard to keep up and also dreadfully boring. I would not have finished this book if it was not part of my reading list for school.
