The Rosie Project
by Graeme Simsion
Listened to on audio-book, finished 10/09/2014. Still as charming and hilarious as the first read, the narrator really captured Don's awkward sweetness. I'm super excited to read The Rosie Effect next!
Don is a professor of genetics at an Australian University, and he struggles with social situations, emotions, and generally any human interaction. However, his (two) friends convince him he would make quite a catch for any woman so he commences the Wife Project questionnaire to find a suitable mate. Hilarity and the most unexpected love connection ensue.
A quick read, but chock full of laugh out loud moments and huge amounts of character growth. I can totally see this as a movie, especially when Don learns and memorizes the Bartender's Handbook and gets a gig as a bartender, all in a quest to find out who Rosie (from the title's) father really is.
Love.
