Summer of Sloane
by Erin L. Schneider
Sloane finds out her best friend is pregnant, and that Sloane's long time boyfriend is the father. Vowing to forget them both, she and her twin brother go on their annual Hawaiian summer vacation. Sloane takes a job at a posh hotel, where she meets Finn, handsome son of the hotel's owner. They have an instant connection and start to date. The oceans seem calm, until Sloane's life back home crashes her back to reality.
I was absorbed by the story, but the plot grew a bit heavy for a summer beach read at the end. I also thought it was ironic that Sloane gets upset at Finn when he ignores her, like she did to her best friend and ex.
