A book about love, loss, and the fight for trans equality. Sarah McBride is the first openly transgender person elected to the state Senate. This is her story.

Reading her story made me feel many things. I felt like she was my dear friend and I ugly cried reading about the death of her husband. I felt so proud of her when she stood up for what she wanted and when she was able to achieve such progress for the LGBTQ+ community. I felt honored to have been able to read her story and I hope you all can take a moment to read it, too.

I felt so privileged to be able to read this for my work's book club this year. I think reading stories like Sarah's is a great reminder that we are all human. She just happens to be trans. Thank you, Sarah, for making such an impact.

Most impactful part: On page 255, there is a quote from the last chapter in her book that I found most striking. [This new generation] "represents the first generation of trans people who, in many cases, have been allowed to grow up as themselves." Personally, I couldn't ask for anything better than that ❤️
