for me this book was sadly the case of “too much in one”.
this book had so much going on between “world building” (which is purposefully in quotations since in my option that feel a bit short in this book simply due to too many other topics, so that whole we got glimpses into what’s happening and why we never really get specifics that i personally need in sci-fi), lgbt+ relationships, war training, actual fighting and war situations and all of that happening in space with its on unique situations... it’s a lot for one book to handle!
let alone one as short as this.

because of the books length (or shortness?) a lot felt either just under developed, under mentioned or between a bit rushed and just way to fast. and at the same time i found the training sequences a bit too long and even sometimes a bit boringly written.

all in all there is potential here, and if this would have been done differently this could have been great.
as it is?
it’s not bad but it’s not actually good either.
