I Am Sacagawea
by Brad Meltzer
emotional
informative
medium-paced
- Book was okay and the information was solid. Just something that I did not love about it. Maybe because it is written and illustrated by two men from New York, but I know with biographies "anyone" can write them. I just think having the story told from an indigenous, even female, perspective might help. I know this is also part of a series of biographies that Brad Meltzer has written.
- Illustrations are unique; help to emphasize the young age of the main character
- I wish the author took the time to share her real, indigenous name and more about her indigenous life (the little of that she was able to experience with her family)
- Information was clear and laid out in a manner that is easy to follow
