Strange... I wanted to know WHY! What in the world was this the "national pasttime" for?? and why in the world did these boys sign up knowing what was going to happen!!! I wish that had been explained more. I did enjoy it (if you can truly enjoy this type of book) but really felt it missed out on that level. and the ending... ugh! frustrating!
