rynisreading 's review for:
Fifty Shades of Grey
by E.L. James
I don't know what to think of this book. I started reading it having NO idea what it was about so the subject matter was a little bit of a shock; but I'm open-minded so that fact that it's about a(n attempt at a) BDSM relationship is moot.
I'm disturbed because apparently it was originally a Twilight fanfic, and the names were just changed. Now THAT is fifty shades of fucked-up.
Aside from that - I really don't like relationships in general, romance and love is not my thing, so I found the main character pretty pathetic. She was just another women trying to please a big/scary/whatever man who she was drawn to for reasons she didn't understand... a la Twilight.
I have no star rating for this because I still have no idea what I think. I will read the next installment simply because this first book ended with an absurd "cliffhanger" - but I will say I'm not paying any money for these books.
