Waar het licht is
by Aleid van Eekelen-Benders, Jennifer Niven
So, when I started this book, if was mwa to me. It reminded me of I'll give you the sun, a book a gave 3*. This feeling lasted the first half of the book. It was not bad, but is was not my cup of tea. It's a highschoolbook, and I'm out of highschool for a couple of years :P it was average to me.
But then. Oh my.
"She is oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. The same elements that are inside the rest of us, but I can’t help thinking she’s more than that and she’s got other elements going on that no one’s ever heard of, ones that make her stand apart from everybody else."
And:
"I like the idea of something that can give you those feelings all the time. I want something like that, and then I look at Violet and think: There she is."
I love the character development in this book. Than The Thing happens, and I love how you see this change.
This is a beautiful book, and I love it that the story has meaning. A great read.
But then. Oh my.

How Finch is loving Violet, how he is thinking about her, it is so beautiful! Quotes like this:"She is oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus.
