This was such a fun read! I am a die hard vampire girlie so when I saw this ARC I applied immediately. It’s contemporary, and centers around an absolute goofball of a vampire and a stoic detective. I loved Zav and Celine immediately. It’s a classic black cat/golden retriever pairing with a deeply obsessed MMC. I was giggling and kicking my feet over Zavier’s antics the whole way. Celine is also a badass with a hard outer shell and an ooey-gooey center. Her reluctance to tolerate Zav’s nonsense was exactly what he needed. Oh, it is also worth mentioning that Zavier wears glasses and is a ginger, if you’re into those things 😏 It was nice to see a MMC that deviated from the “dark and brooding” vampire stereotype. 

I am also deeply intrigued by a character we meet later in the story, as well as the (minor) cliffhanger at the end. I will absolutely be returning for the next book!
