This book. Oh my heart. It was full of romance, emotions and loveable characters!

Ford knew from a young age he wanted to join the Army, so he enlisted at 18. He loved serving and he met his best friend, Chad, during boot camp. Now on leave Ford and Chad are visiting Chad’s hometown and his family, who happens to include his cousin Shayne. Shayne has had a rough life and being stuck in a small town isn’t the best, but she has learned to ignore the whispers as best as she can.

There is an instant connection between Ford and Shayne. I loved everything about the two of them individually and together. Ford is super caring and protective. Shayne has walls up, but she slowly lets them down and lets Ford in. Their journey is emotional, but it is also truly beautiful. I love how easily Ford’s family accepted Shayne and instantly became a support system for her.

I’m hoping that Chad and Ford’s twin sister, Faith, get a book next! I’m dying to know more about them and of course, get more of Ford and Shayne.

If you’re looking for an emotional, military romance this is one to read!
