The Ten Thousand Doors of January
by Alix E. Harrow
Immersive and lovely
As I sit here crying and trying to find a way to appropriately explain the joy this book has brought me I am at a loss of words. This book is escapism at it’s finest. In a world where every day brings a new tragedy, work becomes increasingly stressful, and I never feel like I’m doing enough, this book was like a warm hug from the love of my life. It was looking into the deep chocolate brown of my children’s eyes and seeing into their souls, and letting them see into mine. It leaves me hopeful, wistful, and full of belief. I adored it.
