Hold Still by Nina LaCour

Wow. I'm weeping as I write this review due to the importance of this book. I was very very anxious to read a book narrated by a girl who lost her best friend to suicide due to some mental health issues I have dealt with in the past and have seen my loved ones deal with more recently. Hold Still made me less anxious about losing someone like this due to the way everything was discussed and how I've come to really understand what my English teacher meant when she said, "You cant control someone's outcome, but you can be there for them to hopefully lead them towards a good one." Reaching out and listening to someone who is struggling is so important and sometimes it feels like it's not enough, and maybe sometimes it isnt, but for the times it is, it's worth it. I love this book with all my heart and will forever look back on it when I need to. five stars.
