So You Want to Talk About Race
by Ijeoma Oluo
Book of the year. Insightful. Sharp. Useful, not just for talking about race, but gender identity and orientation, ableness, and probably anything in the world. Read this, even if you think you don't have a problem talking about race, or maybe you think you don't need to. There's something in your life that this will apply to. The book contained the best description of privilege I've ever encountered. Appropriation too, even though that chapter was probably the weakest in the book (but still worth reading).
