Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries
by Heather Fawcett
adventurous
funny
lighthearted
medium-paced
There is just something so satisfying when authors mix light fantasy with the sinister nature of the faerie folk.
The Folk of the Air trilogy, An Enchantment of Ravens, and Silver in the Wood are other examples that do this really well.
These characters are delightful. Emily is an autistic coded, grumpy academic which just pairs so nicely with Wendell; a charming mash up of Cardan Greenbriar and Howel. I loved their interactions.
I am interested to see how this series progresses.
