Although Aristotle modeled his concept of the tragedy off of this play, I did not feel the true pity one is supposed to feel for the tragic hero. In fact, by the end of the play, I was quite annoyed with King Oedipus because he kept acting in an immature manner. The book was an interesting read nonetheless.
