What Ever Happened to Mr. MAJIC?
by Jeffery A. Martin, Rod Pennington
Thank you to Rod Pennington & Jeffery A. Martin, Integration Press, and NetGalley for providing me an ARC of "What Ever Happened to Mr. MAJIC?"
Grace Maxwell returns to her home town after her mother passes away from cancer. Right after the funeral, Grace is shocked to learn that her father, Don Maxwell, is not her biological father. What ensues is a mystery, designed by her mother prior to her death, for Grace to find the identity of her biological father, who disappeared approximately 24 years ago. With the assistance of her sister, Sunny, and elderly private investigator, Grace must unravel the clues provided by her mother and along the way discover her true self.
I really enjoyed this book and often laughed aloud while reading it. Grace's character development was very well written in showing her "enlightenment" while searching for the identity of her biological father. The character of Sunny provided much comedy and was an excellent companion to Grace in this journey. Though, I had guessed the result of the paternity search early on, I liked how it was played out in the story. The ending was a bit silly but that was probably the intent of the authors. Overall, I would highly recommend this book to others.
