I’m really confused, because I really liked this book—but it took me FOREVER to read and I was just not feeling like picking it up. I usually read multiple books a week, but it took me a week and a half to just get through this one. I actually considered DNFing it, but I wanted to know what happened I just couldn’t find the motivation to read it?
It was cute—the romance felt a bit... off to me in places. Very insta-lovey. It needed more time to develop. But I REALLY enjoyed the cultural aspects of the book. I’ve seen the author at panels, and she talk a lot about incorporating her culture into her book and how she can never find books about brown girls in space, so she wrote one. I really liked that, I thought it was great.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend!
