This was surprisingly compelling! I was going to DNF about 30 pages in, but then all of a sudden I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. The characters were pretty good and I really enjoyed the plot, but the world building was mid and there was very little explanation into the magic system. But for some reason this was compulsively readable and I found myself continuing to turn pages despite my issues with it
