Very short and very beautiful, Brothers is a grieving story. The overall sadness of this book is almost palpable, and I found myself close to crying before I even got to Maus's part of the diary. It also has a very nice writing style, simple and poetic and pretty—I can't help but wonder what it feels like in Dutch.
