My Sister Rosa
by Justine Larbalestier
I am a huge fan of Scott Westerfeld, but I didn't know he has an awesome author wife until I saw him posting about the upcoming release of this novel. Naturally I wanted to check out her work, but I was also immediately interested in the premise of this novel and knew this is where I'd start. Recently it wound up next on the to-read pile after seeing it in the nominees for the 2017 Edgar Awards in the Young Adult category. (I don't know why I've become such a sucker for award nominees, but here we are.) My Sister Rosa didn't disappoint. It was impossible to put down, heart pounding-ly intense all the way through, with plenty of totally un-supernatural horror. It's one of those where I don't know exactly what I think about it after staying up all night finishing it, but it was definitely an intense and enjoyable ride.
