A Fate Inked in Blood
by Danielle L. Jensen
adventurous
tense
fast-paced
This was my first book by Jensen and I loved it! I'm a big fan of Norse mythology. This book was almost nonstop adventure!
Freya, our Shield Maiden with a drop of blood from a God, was pretty fierce. She always puts those she loves before her own comforts. When she invokes the name of the God Hlin, she gets granted her magic foretold by seers and away from one husband to another Snorri... Who's son, Bjorn another God blessed warrior is hard to resist.
I didn't always buy Snorri's "knowing the prophecy", I always had the inkling that he was full of it! I think it was his downfall to have Bjorn teach Freya. The ending twist had me wanting more of this world immediately!
