As much as I love Blythe as a character - I found this to be the weakest of the series and I think it comes down to plot pacing. We spend so much time developing an enemies to lovers relationship in the first third, that when new plot things happen in the second half they felt a bit rushed. Signa is barely in this book, which is fine with me, but also her whole family's involvement with Chaos felt shoved in to Blythe's story in order to get her more involved I guess?
Blythe's story in the latter half is SO sad, and it did make me emotional, just the sacrifices she has to make as someone who is such a strong willed character.Jury is out on the twist, I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I did ultimately enjoy Blythe and Aris's relationship, the library scene was very Beauty & the Beast. I also liked the epilogue. That felt like a full circle moment to me.
