I make it a point not to read dog books. Because dog books always have the same ending, right? And who needs that when you are a veterinarian and sad dog stories are your life. Except when the writing is fresh, and funny, and full of all the good-dog-love feels, then I read. And when there is even a Coach Taylor reference when your eyes are blurry with tears, you read the book while curled up with your sweet pooches young and old and then recommend the book to your fellow dog people.
