Superman Adventures: The Man of Steel
by Various
This was a strange choice for my final read of 2022, but I'm not mad at it. This eclectic collection of short comics set in the world of Superman: The Animated Series was a fast, fun read. While some of the stories were throwaways and the initial inconsistency of art styles was jarring there were a handful of stories that packed punch.
For the most part, this collection managed to capture the charm of TAS and its balance of thematic depth and lighthearted adventure made for a fun time. I'd highly recommend TAS fans especially seek out the story "Old Wounds" because its exploration of Clark's relationship with Krypto was so tragic and beautifully written.
